About Me
The Career Assessment Goddess unveiled...
As you can see, the Assessment Goddess is a real person. Dubbed this by my professional career counseling and career coaching colleagues and clients, I decided to outrageously own it. So, if I seem a bit spunky at times... well, I'm a goddess (it comes with the territory).
Career and industry transition isn't easy - I know. Having gone through 5 career changes myself (BEFORE I became a professional career counselor), I know how important it is to get a clarity about future dreams and goals, nail a career focus, and then go after it with commitment and courage!
My Fish Story
You see, my first professional career was in limnology - the study of freshwater fish. This would have been fine except that I'm an extreme extrovert and working alone with fish was NOT a good match! In case you wondered, fish are not scintillating conversationalists...
I accidentally discovered that helping others enrich their lives by identifying and securing jobs they could love was my "dream job". My first step on the journey to realizing that dream was attaining a Master's Degree in Counseling from The Johns Hopkins University.
Since then I have pursued and obtained the most elite credentials in the careers industry (listed below), so that my clients could have the best, cutting-edge tools for career transformation.
13 Certifications and Credentials: National Certified Counselor, National Certified Career Counselor, Distance Career Counselor, Certified Career Management Coach, Certified Job-Loss Recovery Coach, Certified Expert Resume Writer, Master Resume Writer with Lifetime Achievement Award, Certified Professional Resume Writer, Certified Employment Interview Coach, Certified International Job and Career Transition Coach, Certified 360Reach Facilitator, Certified Personal Branding Strategist, Certified Online Identity Management Strategist.
Some people ask why I have so many certifications. There are two key reasons:
1. Keeping up-to-date with the latest career and job search trends, career management strategies, and cutting-edge job search tools is my commitment to my clients. I pride myself on staying knowledgeable about what really works to advance your career - now, and not what used to work 10 years ago.
2. My thirst for knowledge is insatiable, especially in my profession. This is my dream job, and I love to learn everything I can about it!

My love of learning combined with a future-focus orientation shows up in the specialty services I offer: distance career counseling and telecoaching; career coaching; personal branding; online identity management; executive coaching; career assessments; leadership development; branded resumes, bios and online profiles such as LinkedIn; web portfolios; blog development; corporate training; and outplacement.
